IMPATIENS L. 鳳仙花屬
Large genus of herbaceous plants, belonging to the balsam family (Balsaminaceae), that are widely distributed in Asia, Africa, and North America.
About 400 species in the temperate and tropical parts of the world, three species in Taiwan.

有一個年輕的樵夫，他上山砍柴迷了路，糧食與水都殆盡，仍然找不到下山的路回家。
他又渴又累，眼看天色漸漸暗了下來，心裡相當著急，但是又不知如何才能脫困。 年輕的樵夫坐臥在大樹下休息，思考著如何?
突然間他聽到一個極小的聲音在叫著
救我、救我
他循著聲音四處尋找，發現樹洞中有一個白鬍子的老人
身高只有一吋高，樹洞太深他爬不出來
老人對樵夫說:我是鳳仙，因為青葫蘆掉了，無法施展法術
老人要樵夫幫忙尋找青葫蘆
但是那青葫蘆相當微小
樵夫沒有讓鳳仙失望
也找到那青葫蘆
鳳仙老人感謝樵夫救命之恩
鳳仙老人從青葫蘆變出了一個大千世界
領著樵夫進入神祕的桃花源
放眼望去豐饒的大地
遠遠有棟黃金屋
裡面金碧輝煌，樵夫從未見過
鳳仙老人預備了各種美食招待樵夫，亦準備金銀財寶
鳳仙老人從青色的小酒壺中，倒出許多黑色的種子，這些種子與芝麻大小相近
老人告訴樵夫，這些種子可以開出各式各樣顏色的鳳仙花
他的果實就像青色的小酒壺
若是不甚吞進去魚刺時，可將種子磨成細粉調水服用
可將魚刺除去；烹煮肉類時，加入鳳仙花種子，可使快速軟化肉類
樵夫回答了:這些金銀財寶我都不要，我的家鄉很多人都已砍柴為生，也買不起大魚大肉。工作時常常弄傷手部，只希望有一種良藥能夠治療手傷。
